Catford cat history

Hi,

I’m a Lewisham based student, currently studying Art History and I’m looking for information about the catford cat for a research project.

All I’ve been able to find out so far is that I was designed in 1974 by brutalist architect, Owen Luder.

I was wondering if anyone had any more information about this prominent Catford landmark, or any memories from when it was first installed. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I wonder where they found that information as I’ve been unable to find anything in Lewisham archives. I might try emailing them.
